A RELATION APPROACH TO HEALING

What is Psychotherapy?

Also known as therapy or counselling this is an approach for treating mental health issues by talking with a professional. In my practice I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore your issues, process them and learn to find ways to cope with them. Psychotherapy can help with the conflicts and stressors of life that can affect anyone.

I work with a broad range of presenting issues including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, stress, abuse, health issues, bereavement and life transitions.

I believe that each of us has the power to heal ourselves but may need guidance at times to build resilience, experience personal growth and positive change. I will work with you in a collaborative way and treat you with kindness, empathy and compassion, thus enabling you to change your relationship with yourself and others.

I have many years experience of working with multiple approaches to therapy, including person centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), pluralistic therapy, mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

“I just wanted to take a moment to share how deeply grateful I am for the support and guidance Anne has provided me during my weekly sessions. Working with her has been a truly transformative experience. I have dipped in and out of therapy over the years but her sessions are ones that felt so helpful at that time for me and I felt lighter after them.

Anne’s empathy, professionalism, and genuine care created a safe space where I felt truly heard and understood, and every week I was so happy to go to her. She helped me navigate grief, personal growth and confidential information which I had shared with her. I have grown so much emotionally and mentally through our sessions. I hope other people can benefit from working with you Anne, as much as I have. And I have recommended you to others too if I am asked. “

“Over the years I have attended Anne for talk therapy when needed. A few months ago, I unexpectedly started experiencing anticipatory grief and anxiety for a close relative who has a serious illness. Quite a cocktail and very difficult. Having a therapist like Anne who listens attentively, encourages you and provides guidance is vital. You get time to express yourself and feel heard. Talking helps dissipate anxiety. You begin to understand yourself better. Developing coping strategies is important. Core breathing exercises learned during sessions are calming. I would highly recommend Anne to anyone who needs therapy. “

Since 2020, my family and I have had the privilege of working with Anne through some of the most challenging and transformative periods of our lives. Her compassionate, grounded, and deeply insightful approach has guided us - particularly through the pain of bereavement and in navigating my relationship with my wonderful daughter, who was going through a difficult time.

Anne’s naturally warm and caring personality helped to create a safe and supportive space where honest reflection and healing could truly begin. Her presence is calm, reassuring, and entirely non-judgmental. She listens with great care and intuition and offers perspectives that are balanced, practical and profoundly empathetic. Over the years, her guidance has not only helped us process deep grief, but has also brought clarity, understanding, and renewed connection into our family dynamic.

Thanks to Anne, my relationship with my daughter has become stronger, more open, trusting, and resilient and I have begun to experience genuine personal growth. She has helped my daughter and I to communicate better, understand each other more deeply, and build a stronger foundation for the future. I am deeply grateful for Anne’s ongoing support and professionalism. I cannot recommend her highly enough to anyone seeking meaningful, lasting change in their personal or family life.
