About Anne SorahanAnne brings a wealth of experience to her high-quality practice. She is a mindfulness based practitioner with a pluralistic philosophy, which is rooted in a person-centred approach. She is highly aware that each person is unique and tailors her specific approach to meet the needs and requirements of each person that she works with.
Anne draws on her multiple experiences gained working with couples, adults of all ages and adolescents. She endeavours to work with each person to assist in reducing stress, trauma, anxiety and depression to achieve a restoration of physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual balance.
Anne has gained valuable experience working for several organisations over the years. In Accord she trained professionally and worked with both couples and individuals to resolve relationship difficulties. She also received specialist training and experience in domestic abuse.
Working with Pieta (the suicide and self-harm prevention agency) for many years, Anne delivered crisis intervention to both adolescents and adults feeling suicidal and self-harming. She also provided key support to family members affected by suicidal ideation and grief counselling to those bereaved by suicide.
At Trinity College Dublin she worked in the student counselling service providing one on one counselling to the student population.
Anne currently provides counselling and psychotherapy in the National Counselling Service to adults, referred by their GP, into the mental health service. She also works with IICP College in supervising their student counsellors.
Alongside this, Anne maintains a private practice as a psychotherapist, supervisor, career/life coach, and Reiki Master.
This gives Anne the flexibility and skills needed to work with a wide variety of issues, worries and concerns and makes her the ideal person to work with you, to help you with your difficulties and to provide healing at this time in your life.
